Eco-Ethics

This activity is designed to give learners the opportunity to examine their own values and beliefs as they relate to environmental issues, while gaining an awareness and appreciation of the complexity of these issues.  Students are also asked to evaluate several options for resolution of the issue. (Steps 2 and 4.)

Select a dilemma card for discussion.
Study the situation and decide what you would do. Respond to the following questions using the discussion board:

  • Which Dilemma Card did you select?
  • Which option did you chose?
  • Why did you judge the option you selected to be the most responsible decision? Explain your reasoning.
  • What critical thinking skills would be exercised by learners in examining a dilemma?
  • What additional information, if any, is needed to make a responsible and informed decision?
