by CAEE last modified 07-08-2008 13:42

Sustainability through Education and Partnerships

Thank you for joining today’s leaders in air quality, government, and industry as we discuss innovative educational strategies to create strong communities, a vibrant economy, and a healthy environment.

The forum was held on June 13, 2008 at the Junior Achievement building in Denver.  The forum hosted three speakers:

Download Ken's presentation.

Download Curtis' presentation.

By attending the meeting you have shown your commitment to ozone and air quality issues and effective environmental education.  As Ali Goulstone Sweeney, Executive Director of the Colorado Alliance for Environmental Education, explained during the forum, "The vision of environmental education is not just about good education, or even what's good for the environment, it's a systems view of how environment, economy, and community can work together."

Environmental Education is happening all over the state of Colorado, maybe even as a part of your business or organization.  It is helping citizens to think critically about the environmental issues that surround them and helping them to develop the awareness, knowledge, attitudes and skills to make environmentally responsible choices.

However you choose to support education about air quality and ozone, CAEE can help you do that.

More than Hot Air: Air Quality Conversations

Are you preparing air quality educational materials?  Do you have questions for air quality or education experts?  Do you need more information about how to benefit from education in your agency?  Check out the new CAEE Blog, “Air Quality Conversations” at http://caeetopics.blogspot.com .  Post questions, connect with other leaders in air quality, and start talking about how education can help you!

Environmental Education Directory

Have you ever wondered what educational resources already exist regarding air quality?  Do you want to let others know about the programs and materials you offer for air quality education?  Check out CAEE’s online directory at http://www.caee.org/ee-directory.  Not only can you search for other programs that are happening around the state, but you can post your programs and resources to let other air quality educators and professionals know about the great work you are doing!

Resource Reviews

Do you have educational materials or ideas for education at your agency?  Sit down with a “resource reviewer” from CAEE in person or over the phone to help you complete a self-evaluation of your resource or program.  Explore ways that you can enhance the educational outcomes of your program or resource by critically thinking about how you address the awareness, knowledge, attitudes, skills, and behavior in regards to air quality. Email CAEE for more information.
