CAEE volunteers developed a statewide environmental education (EE) resource evaluation and assessment process, based upon the national Guidelines for Excellence in EE created by NAAEE. Ultimately, this review process will be driven by CAEE members and will enhance everyone's marketability and program quality. We in the EE community need to take responsibility for quality assurance of the collective EE product.
Peer Leadership - We Need You!
You can maintain your "edge of excellence" almost indefinitely by being part of the state's review team. This training prepares you to lend your leadership and hone your skills in recognizing EE excellence. Analyzing your own EE resources is one thing - but reviewing other programs/materials is a whole different ballgame! We promise you'll find it an invaluable leadership experience and the most effective exercise you'll ever find for your own professional development. Becoming a reviewer is a great way to become familiar with Colorado EE resources, to continue your professional development, and to contribute to the EE profession. Peer reviewers will provide constructive feedback on the strengths and suggested improvements for the resources. The intent is also to make the information available to the public to assist consumers as they search for and select EE programs. Register NOW to be part of the team.
The key to this idea is that we become peer reviewers for each other. We need your leadership and willingness to be involved. We need your commitment to help elevate the sense of credibility and value for environmental education. You will gain serious insight about how to design and develop your own EE materials and activities and you'll see new and exciting ways of marketing and enhancing the quality of your own programs.

After Training
You've completed the Reviewer Training, Now what?
After you complete the reviewer training you need to submit a Reviewer Commitment Form. This is an online form. Click Here
for the Reviewer Commitment Form. You will be asked to create a login
name and password, please record these! Then you will automatically be
transferred to a welcome page. Each time you login (Reviewer Log In) you will be directed to this welcome page.
After you complete the commitment form, CAEE will assign you a resource
to review; each assignment will appear on your welcome page. You will
receive all of the pieces of the submission (by mail or email) and
typically, you will be given 1 month to complete your review. It is
expected that each review will take about three hours to complete. Your
review must be submitted online through your welcome page.

When all three reviewers have completed a review, a review coordinator
(from CAEE) will consolidate the review results. If there are
discrepancies in the review results, the review coordinator will
examine the results and, if necessary, contact reviewers to determine
consensus. The review coordinator will notify the submitter of the
final review results and provide feedback information. Reviewers will
be able to see the final review results at this time. The submitter
will then decide whether those results are published through the CAEE
website. If the submitter chooses to have the review results made
public, a flag (
), indicating "Review Available" will appear next to the resource name in the EE Database/Directory (http://www.caee.org/ee-directory).
