Schools: How do I get Started?

Schools can be the setting for EE, but they also can be the support system for environmental literacy.  “Schools” can refer to the school staff, administrators, operations management and more.  Schools provide students with meaningful opportunities to expand their perspectives and learn outside the classroom.  They foster relationships among the school/district, students, families, community, and the environment.

How can educators advance environmental literacy in schools?

Below are a variety of actions you can take to bring environmental education to your school. Choose the strategies that work best for you.

EE in the Curricula  Assess and Evaluate
Use the School Building  Use the School Grounds
Use the Community  Connect with Others in EE
Training and PD  CO Green Schools Network
